Top 8 Spring/Summer 2016 Trends in Home Décor

What a show! Our annual trip to Atlanta for the AmericasMart International Gift & Home Furnishings Market was a total blast, as usual. More importantly, it gave us a real sense of the latest home furnishing trends and best selling gifts for the season. After 3 days of non-stop shopping, here's what made our Spring/Summer 2016 trends list:

Rustic is still in.

Sophistication is simplicity, which is why rustic continues to rule in Spring/Summer 2016. These ceramic pots and Dutch tulip crates were among our first purchases, and they’re already on their way to us! Look out for them in early February in our shop.

Natural foliage in metal containers.

These cute little ferns might be heartwarming during the winter months, but they’ll be plain hot in Spring/Summer 2016. This trend is going nowhere fast, so stock up and enjoy. Get one in early Spring .

Artificial flowers.

They’ve been around almost as long as the real thing. But if you’ve been resisting buying into the imitation game, this spring, artificial is actually on trend. Get the most realistic silk hydrangeas in Spring/Summer 2016, and enjoy their beauty all year round. Buy them in lilac or white in mid March.

Copper is cool.

This distinct metal has been showing up more and more in home décor items, and is sure to stay on trend in Spring/Summer 2016. We fell in love with these copper candles wrapped in luxurious canvas bags, and we can’t wait to bring them to you. Get yours in late February.

Quotes as art.

Words can be powerful, but easily forgotten. Which is why this Spring/Summer 2016 trend is putting the world’s most inspiring passages right on your walls. This spring, we will be bringing you our most popular art print in an extra small 17" x 25", making it an easier fit for your home and your wallet. Order yours now or see what we'll have in store mid February.

Words on wood.

This Spring/Summer 2016 trend is all about text on wood—crates, boards, containers, you name it! Honey and Me uses wood pallets with white and color washes and beautiful words to inspire us from our wall. Look for your timber inspiration in late April.

Text on things.

This Spring/Summer 2016 trend takes the writing off the wall and onto everyday items around the home. Case in point, this fabulous lazy susan from a brand new line for us—Face to Face Designs. Look for it online in February, and in store in early March.

Texture mixture.

That's not your grandma’s bedding. Texture is young again this season, and the new Elisabeth York line is totally on trend. Fresh and affordable, this collection introduces a hip top-of-the-bed look for millennials and those young at heart. With chenille chevron, Indian inspired block prints and beaded accent pillows, this bedding will keep you styling from first apartments to cottages by the sea. Get yours sometime in 2016.

  1. Outstanding article! Having a love and affinity for home decor has been a passion of mine since I was around the age of 12... One of the best pieces of advice that I've ever been given was from my very talented Aunt, a sweet southern woman who was also a highly sought after interior decorator for more than 25 years. She said that the first rule of thumb when it comes to a homes decor is to always embrace the phrase "everything old is new again"... She was so right - Whether it's vintage, rustic, shabby or Victorian-chic - they each define timeless elegance - And in my opinion, they will forever be classics... Just like my sweet Aunt. <3
